About me
I completed a degree in Sports & Exercise Sciences at The University of Gloucestershire in 2006.
I also hold a nationally recognised Sports Performance Services diploma in Sports Massage; this is an accredited qualification with the Sports Massage Association and was gained in June 2007.
I have been working as a professional sports therapist since qualifying in June 2007. I have worked with athletes at 10-km Road Races, Triathlons and also professional dancers performing in Aladdin at the Birmingham Hippodrome.
As well as massaging the British Gymnastics Rhythmic team, I am currently employed full time by Shrewsbury Town Football Club, as their 1st Team Sports Therapist.
I also run a private practice, based at Northwick Manor Dental Practice in Worcester.
I used my Sports massage qualification to volunteer for the Geoff Thomas Foundation when they completed the charity run of the ‘Tour De France’ in summer 2007, massaging the cyclists before and after everyday cycling. Some of the cyclists were recovering Leukaemia sufferers and some included ex-professional footballer friends of Geoff Thomas.During my last year at University, as Captain of the Women’s Volleyball Club, I received a scholarship enabling me to work with professional football teams performing rigorous fitness testing and thus developing my detailed understanding of the needs of elite athletes.
